Our clients' Missile Defense National Team is seeking motivated and talented System Engineers in Colorado Springs, Colorado!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team members will work with other industry partners in the development and execution of a comprehensive assessment program supporting the C2BMC Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
  • Evaluates systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine and/or optimize overall system mission performance in a framework, giving insight into performance that may be employed by the Missile Defense Agency and Warfighters
  • Performs various analyses to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Develops and maintains analysis tools of varied fidelity, including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future missile defense systems
  • Develops, maintains, and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Defines, schedules, assigns, and executes tasks, and monitors completion to lead the monitoring of integration and checkout activities, receiving and evaluating results of activities, and approving/disapproving of each by determining whether results meet the checkout requirements, so that integration activities can proceed
  • Supporting the subject matter experts for integration and test domains, system engineering, system performance/ domains, system-specific issues, processes, tools, and regulations
  • Support efforts to solve complex missile defense problems
  • Utilization of MBSE tools such as CAMEO or DOORS, System Architect, and mathematical modeling and simulation to provide thought leadership and lead trade studies in assigned areas
  • Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems
  • Drive the system engineering integration and test, or the system analysis approach
  • Develop, select, tailor, and deploy integration and test processes, tools, and metrics
  • Execute and document integration and test activities and events
  • Develop, define efficiencies and improvements to tools to improve team productivity
  • Perform system analysis and trade studies to define technical concepts and solutions
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO.)
  • This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.
  • This position requires the candidate's acceptance by the industry partner resource control board.
  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
  • Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Minimum of 1 year of in-system engineering (e.g, Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements, or Test)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance or an active Top Secret clearance is highly desired
  • Growing understanding of DoD and missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures, and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques
  • Experience with the verification of requirements
  • Must have an understanding of System Engineering and iterative product development using Agile practices.
  • Experience in developing capability assessments, assessment objectives, and related assessment plans and procedures.
  • Experience in scripting and automated test development is a plus.
  • This position requires exposure to a broad range of personnel within MDA and its associated sub-elements.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, JAVA, or a similar language environment to develop analytical tools or perform numerical modeling of complex systems.
  • Demonstrated experience performing systems analysis or performance analysis, including system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, probability analysis, or vehicle analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense elements or systems in similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile Development processes is a plus
