You will work with a dynamic team of engineers and stakeholders responsible for implementing technical systems solutions, architectural framework, and direction of multiple complex projects to ensure client standards and performance requirements are met. Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
- Designing, prototyping, and building systems that include Microsoft Windows environment (operating systems, and SQL; VMWare; and LAN/WAN infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.))
- Implementing and Applying STIGS, CIS Benchmarks, etc., to the environments
- Performing SCAP scans and completing STIG checklists
- Supporting Configuration Management (CM) roles and responsibilities, including testing of patches and updates prior to implementation, establishing checklists, and testing procedures, developing test criteria, etc.
- Applying operating system patches, Packs, hotfixes, and software/ firmware updates
- Performing system vulnerability scans including Nessus / ACAS, and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC)
- Establish and support automated system software update methodologies and technologies
- Identify industry accepted technical security standards and the policies that drive compliance requirements
- Work with Cybersecurity personnel to harden and patch servers, workstations, applications, databases, and network infrastructure
Position / Candidate Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Active Secret
- Education: Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Information Security, or in a Related Field
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the following or
- Masters’ Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the following
Experience Needed:
- Information Technology experience preferably focused on IT security and Information Assurance for federal government or DoD systems.
- Heavy hands-on experience with complex troubleshooting strongly desired.
- Hands on knowledge of DoD information security requirements; experience configuring Windows client (Windows 10 and 11) and Windows Server (2012R2 through 2019) operating systems; Microsoft SQL Server; and Cisco IOS devices; and experience building and administering VMWare vSphere environments Experience applying DISA STIGs to Windows, VMWare, and network devices and performing compliance scans / manual assessments
- Experience with WSUS and/or SCCM
- Experience performing Nessus / ACAS scans and remediating against identified vulnerabilities
- Strong Oral, Written, and Presentation Skills with experience communicating directly with Customers
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites including Visio; Putty; Wireshark or other protocol analyzers; Tenable Nessus / ACAS; and ability to master similar productivity tools
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
Required Certifications:
- DoDI 8570.01-m IAM Level II or Higher Baseline Certification such as: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Etc.
- Vendor Platform Certifications including MCP/MCSA/MCSE; CCNA/CCNP; VCA/VCP; RHSA, Etc.
