Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Sr. Cyber Security Analyst to join our team at our client’s site in Arlington, VA.


We are seeking an experienced Sr Cyber Security Analyst to support our Government Partner with cyber related activities including stakeholder management, vulnerability research, coordination with the system engineers and ISSO’s.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage system vulnerabilities in accordance with security requirements utilizing NIST continuous monitoring standards, RMF critical security controls and counter measures based on risk assessments of mission systems.
  • Identify and assess specific emergency or priority vulnerabilities, guided by input from other elements of the team such as cyber intelligence, engineering, or operations and suggest specific remediation approaches.
  • Analyze vulnerability data and manage prioritization and timely remediation of the identified vulnerabilities (VPRs) commensurate to risk and vulnerability management standards
  • Understand vulnerabilities, their impacts, mitigation techniques, and document and articulate this understanding to various stakeholders.
  • Update and develop security standards and templates as to meet new regulatory/audit/ requirements and guidance.
  • Continuously monitor Security Posture Dashboard (SPDR score) and recommend process and procedures to improve environment and score.
  • Assess and review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.
  • Research, develop, implement, test and review the customers’ requirements for information security in order to protect information and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Lead requirement gathering for automating operational processes and support user acceptance testing.
  • Develop security risk analysis of all relevant projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and/or review and provide feedback on Security Impact Assessment of all IT and Cyber Security projects prior to production.
  • Review and provide feedback on security-related documents on all FORCE projects and initiatives.
  • Lead COOP/ISCP document developments.
  • Act as liaison between FORCE and USMS CSB.
  • Act as backup for maintaining all patching tools including BigFix and SCCM.
  • Research security issues affecting network/systems hardware and software and provide recommended solution.
  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems data assets.
  • Perform other IT cyber security-related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience implementing and maintaining security controls for Federal IT systems in accordance with FISMA and NIST guidance
  • Proficient use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Proficient understanding of cyber security specifications such as RMF, STIGS, IAVAs, and other government security specifications and guidelines.
  • Proficient knowledge of cybersecurity technology and trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Recognizes and incorporates various security designs and lessons learned.
  • Ability to participate or lead security-working groups/meetings.
  • Experience in problem-solving and troubleshooting complex and distributed government IT systems.

Preferred/Nice to Have:

  • Security Development and Operations (SecDevOps)
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Familiarity with scripting tools to include Python, Shell Script, or Ansible
  • Cloud security controls and implementation
  • Virtualization experience (VDI & VMWare)
  • Public, private and hybrid Cloud experience (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
  • CISSP
  • AWS Certified Security Specialty
