Power BI Developer
Job Description
Seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. Our team supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO); in this role, you will be pivotal in supporting our federal customer in building an exciting, innovative, and consolidated BI solution by developing and refining various data models. The tool you will be supporting helps to consolidate and simplify complex data streams across the organization and your work will directly empower senior leadership with a comprehensive, real-time understanding of the organization, arming them with the information needed to make strategic decisions. You will need to be capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications to create insightful and interactive dashboards that drive decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities include:
• Design, develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboard to meet requirements
• Understand business stakeholders data visualization needs and translate them into Power BI capabilities
• Perform ETL on data from various sources into Power BI for development of reports and dashboards
• Support end-user support and training of any reports and dashboards
• Create and maintain documentation for Power BI solutions such as report specifications, guidelines, and data models created
Required Skills:
•Must be a US Citizen
•Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
•5+ years of experience using PowerBI
• Ability to utilize SQL to query, manipulate, and interact with databases
• Ability to utilize Power BI DAX and M
• Experience designing and implementing data models is preferred
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
• Experience working in an Agile methodology specifically Scrum and/or Kanban
•Excellent communication and interpersonal leadership skills
Desired Skills:
• Prior professional services or federal consulting experience; experience supporting DHS preferred
•Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence)
