Department Overview

As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. Position Summary

This position supports the Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM, including support for Financials, Procurement, and other Project Management functions. The Finance Applications Team provides research, design, development, and support services for the Finance applications. This position is in the Finance Applications group within the Technology Delivery Services (TDS) department and reports directly to the Financial Applications Manager. The incumbent will work closely with campus locations, business partners, vendors, the project team, and other technology professionals. The Oracle Applications Lead Developer is responsible for all technical aspects of maintaining and supporting the Oracle Financials suite. This includes, but is not limited to, designing, evaluating, developing, modifying, debugging, and deploying complex Oracle configurations and customizations. This position may be required to provide remote on-call support during off hours.

 

Key Responsibilities

40% Operational Support: Handle the technical aspect of maintaining and supporting day-to-day Oracle Financials activities: Design, develop, modify, debug, deploy and evaluate complex Oracle configurations and customizations. Work with functional and technical resources to support cloud systems (e.g., Financial Close and Consolidation (FCCS), Enterprise Data Management (EDMCS), Planning and budgeting (PBCS) and Accounts Reconciliation (ARCS) etc.). Log Oracle support requests, review patches, deploy, and provide operational support. Develop solutions that leverage existing frameworks, align with the overall enterprise cloud architecture and vision, and are compliant with the established coding standards and other development principles. Partner with other parties, including vendor consultants, to incorporate industry best practices and development of defect-free enhancements for the system. Work closely with University business and/or technical counterparts to deliver enhancements that are compliant with industry and application best practices. Initiate changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Set the technical requirements for complex software specifications. Apply advanced software concepts to plan, design, develop, modify, debug, deploy and evaluate highly complex software for functional areas. Apply and enforce complex programming security practices. Perform highly complex data analysis and test/debug highly complex software, working directly with management. Initiate, analyze, design and apply highly complex data sources.

 

30% Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with core team members, subject matter experts and business partners. Proactively engage other ITS teams in cross-functional efforts. Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner. Understand and communicate with business partners in business terms and use this understanding to assure the business partner's understanding of work status, risks, issues and proposals. Work with multiple stakeholders to develop solutions against the departmental roadmap. Openly share plans and strive to prevent surprises within and across the organization.

 

20% Technical Expert: Mentor the technical work deliverables of junior team members. Participate in and provide subject matter expertise to other areas as needed. Understand and apply industry practices, community standards and department policies and procedures in depth. Remain current on technology trends. Foster an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

 

10% Design, Integration, and Documentation: Create technical design documents, and test plans for applications, prepare time estimates, and develop conversion and/or integration plans and system implementation plans. Review and prepare flow-charting and data analysis for requested customizations for potential inclusion into the existing Oracle Financials ecosystem. Document and execute the transformation of the University's financial accounting, planning and budgeting solutions to an Oracle cloud environment. Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • Min 10 years of experience in Oracle or Oracle Fusion Cloud, with a strong working knowledge of accounting processes, security, data management, forms, and industry terminology. Inclusive of at least 5 years of experience with Oracle EPM Products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Min 4 years of experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM including experience in Financial Reporting Studio and Management Reporting and SmartView.

  • Experience interfacing with senior management on significant matters.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, including prior experience in configuring/developing and executing testing to deliver system enhancements.
  • Advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities in system problem identification and resolution.
  • Proficiency in incident response and digital forensics, encompassing data collection, examination, and analysis to provide effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and process analysis functions, along with conceptual database design.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with outstanding problem-solving, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills.
  • Technical proficiency in developing reports in Oracle Cloud and using Financial Reporting Studio, Management/Narrative reporting, and SmartView.
  • Advanced knowledge of professional IT concepts, programming design, modification, and implementation.
  • Competence in EPM systems design, administration, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Skills to develop procedures and standards related to database management systems and implementing enhancements to improve performance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of system management actions and their impact on related functions and users.
  • Experience in data integration using DM and specifications of data services.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer security tools, best practices, and policies, including securing server-based software.
  • Expertise in analyzing and preventing security incidents of high complexity.
  • Strong security skills for safeguarding operating systems, software, data, and hardware.
  • Proficient in leading technical teams, organizing workflow, and scheduling assignments.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical projects or collaboratively within a team of technical professionals and decision-makers.
  • Aptitude for understanding and modeling complex knowledge-intensive processes, such as scholarly and research processes.
  • Familiarity with data quality, governance issues, and requirements, as well as logical data design and data mapping/conversion.
  • Expertise in project management and technical skills to develop, implement, and test disaster recovery functions using backup technologies.

Education Requirements /Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience/training.
  • Relevant Oracle Cloud certification
  • Experience with Oracle other EPM Cloud Products and Solutions (ARCS, PBCS, EDMCS).
