Blackstone Technology Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Head of Procurement & Logistics North America to join our team at our client s site in Thornwood, NY .

In this full-time procurement and logistics role as a working manager you and your team will roll out new technical solutions and processes for both purchasing and logistics, improve them as well as lead purchasing negotiations of Non-Production Material (NPM). All of this based on the customer needs and cost optimization. You will work with a team of professionals and specialists that you will further develop in terms of skills and responsibility and be the communication facilitator between multiple Business Units and HQ in Germany.

Your job

Develop together with the Business areas and Headquarters the service, performance, solutions strategy in US/Canada in the areas of supply chain (Logistics and Procurement). Focus on increase performance towards the end customer, and cost efficiency. Make use of harmonization and scalability.

Collaborate and develop strong relationships and an active network regionally and globally to facilitate change

Lead and develop the Non-Production Material procurement and logistics team (currently a total of 6 in 4 locations of which 4 are direct reports)

Be responsible to monitor and manage a 3PL operated warehouse for multiple business units with the team, e.g. Ensure performance to targets, Continuous improvement of processes and performance, Escalation management in case needed, Align business units to ensure harmonized processes

Effectively monitor and lead negotiations and supplier selection to ensure quality, service, and cost requirements, e.g. .Initiate and monitor contract negotiations with suppliers for NPM projects, Manage and optimize the supply network for assigned commodities, Implement ACS supplier management programs, Strive to optimally leverage suppliers' capabilities and cost position, Develop and manage strategic partner alliances if applicable.

Collaborate in defining and implementing best in class for NPM and service programs, Actively identify and seek out new opportunities to reduce cost and increase optimization of existing processes (e.g. online catalog), Coordinate planning and optimization of cost contribution to EBIT for assigned commodity categories according to corporate guidelines, Initiate, coordinate and monitor pooling opportunities and NPM programs, Initiate exchange for categories with BUs (e.g. Marketingsummit), Supports optimization of global procurement process efficiency, methods, and tools used, Implements procurement policies and procedures, and sets guidelines as necessary.

Initiate and achieve targeted cost reduction programs, e.g. Perform data analysis of NPM spend to determine best cost saving opportunities.

Reports monthly procurement and logistics KPI's.

Manage internal Service Level Agreements and budget to ensure funding and cost control

Manage escalations in case needed, be it internal or external

Drive compliance to programs and processes

Our requirements

Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, or related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years experience purchasing, logistics, negotiations and finance.

Minimum 3 years experience in leading a team.

Demonstrated ability to lead peer and supplier relationships and to build an aligned strategy.

Experience managing complex projects in a complex environment.

Ability to analyze opportunities for cost and efficiency improvement as well as assess supplier performance (such as quality, cost, reliability, ability to innovate, and financial stability).

Financial skills to assess the total cost of processes.

Communication, interpersonal and intercultural skills necessary to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at different management levels and supply partners. Facilitate cross-organizational discussions and drive consensus on strategies and processes globally.

Strong negotiation skills with knowledge of law and contracts.

Expertise in data and process analysis.

Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales, manufacturing, management personnel and business process owners up to senior management.

Be comfortable acting as a change agent and be able to keep the big picture in focus, in order to create win-win outcomes.

Strong IT skills for MS Office, SAP knowledge beneficial.

Able and willing to frequently travel within the US and Internationally.
