Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Enterprise Security Architect - Gigamon to join our Client's team.


Engagement Summary

The Enterprise Security Architect will support a security posture assessment effort to specifically evaluate the deployment of the Gigamon platform currently utilized at Client. Client aims to assess how the Gigamon platform has been deployed, validate the requirements for deploying Gigamon, review the usage and maintenance of Gigamon, and address any identified areas for improvement related to better use, configuration and/or deployment of the Gigamon solution in order to maximize the value of Gigamon platform and better safeguard Client's IT application network. 

 

Role Responsibilities

The Enterprise Security Architect will work with an assessment team comprising of an engagement lead and functional analysts to execute on the following core tasks: 

1.Perform an assessment of UCSF’s current Gigamon deployment, concentrating on the following aspects:

-Validate the business and technical requirements for selecting and deploying the Gigamon platform

-Assess the placement of Gigamon taps, packet brokers and virtual appliances across the UCSF network

-Evaluate the configuration of Gigamon devices, including supporting network device configurations

-Assess and validate Gigamon support services, maintenance and licenses

-Analyze the capability of Gigamon components against the defined requirements

-Assess the integration of Gigamon with existing network infrastructure and security tools

 

2.Conduct a gap analysis of the current state of the Gigamon platform against how the platforms are deployed and used, whether they are meeting the agreed upon requirements and how they are managed and maintained.


3.Develop a set of strategic recommendations that address the identified gaps and support best practices.


Role Expectations

-Act as Technical Security Lead on best approaches and techniques to establish a Zero Trust security posture for safeguarding a client's IT application network.

-Help map out client's current security architecture (diagrams, technical specifications, etc.) along with any recommendations to improve the security architecture per best practices. 

-Act as Technical SME on how to best assess, configure and deploy the Gigamon Cyber Security Suite to support Client's Cyber Security objectives. 

-Contribute to assessment report, including identified strengths and weaknesses of current IT cyber security landscape - with focus on Gigamon deployment - as well as recommendations (if applicable) on how to improve the current setup.  


Required Skills

-Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

-10-12+ years of experience in information security or infrastructure engineering.

-3+ years in a security architecture role.

-1+ years of Gigamon cloud, security and observability tool suite.

-Exposure to Gigamon alternative products such as NetScout, Keysite Technologies or APCON.

​-Hands-on experience with security tools (EDR/XDR, SIEM, IAM/MFA, DLP, firewalls, vulnerability management).

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.


Desired Experience

-Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM Preferred

-Experience in healthcare multi-site or cloud-native environments


Travel

-Ideally in SF bay area. If not, proximity to NoCal and willingness to travel to location for the right expert resource
