Job Description
Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Database Administrator - F2S - FBI to join our Client's team.
Seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our team of experts to assist with building state-of-the-art data platforms for the intelligence community.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include monitoring the database system and performing routine health checks; deploying security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; updating databases with new data; updating operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
Required Qualifications:
- Clearance: TS/SCI w CI Poly is preferred. Top Secret willing to sit for CI Poly is accepted.
- Must have DoD 8570 compliance certifications (i.e., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Minimum 4-10 years of information technology experience, minimum of 4-6 years of practical Database Administration experience.
- Design, implement, and maintain a multiple security enclave data environment, in the AWS cloud.
- Managing database cloud environment with minimal downtime while ensuring data integrity.
- Deploying and managing databases on cloud platforms like Amazon RDS or Aurora.
- Developing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Designing and implementing scalable database structures.
- Creating and maintaining data models to ensure database integrity and performance.
- Optimizing database performance through index creation and query tuning.
- Aligning database operations with CI/CD pipelines through collaboration with software maintenance teams.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and patches for new features and security.
- Analyzing and forecasting database capacity for scalability and optimal performance.
- Leveraging cloud backup solutions for data resilience and easy restoration in failures.
- Using infrastructure as code tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation) for consistent and automated database management.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for database design, configurations, and processes.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Implementing and optimizing data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms, like Amazon Redshift.
- Integrating databases with containerization platforms (e.g., Docker) and orchestrating with tools like Kubernetes for efficient resource utilization.
- Prior experience with NGA and NGA’s support to mission partners.
