AWS Infratructure Engineer - NGA

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting agency, seeks an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to work on an AWS infrastructure team. The qualified candidate must have an active Top Secret security clearance and will work hand-in-hand with technical and program management leadership to help implement the next-generation desktop and web-based production and dissemination system. This position will require experience standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in a cloud environment, and the deployment and maintenance of custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments.

Responsibilities

This position involves leading systems administration activities that support building and delivering new and innovative systems to implement analytics, exploitation, production and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies. Duties will include building Windows instances, performing deployments to multiple dev, test and operational environments, patching, troubleshooting, and working with internal and external development teams as well as enterprise components.

Required Skills:

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post-hire
• Requires BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
• DoD 8570 compliance
• Experience with cloud/Amazon Web services (AWS)
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
• System (hardware, software and networking) Design and Architecture.
• Understanding of agile SW development methodologies
• Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
• Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context

Preferred Skills:

• Experience deploying GIS, specifically ESRI ArcGIS systems along with other technologies such as WMS, WFS, KML
• Experience with various AWS capabilities and services
• Experience writing, maintaining, and describing architecture diagrams
• Proven troubleshooting experience
• Excellent communication (Virtual and in person)
• Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
• Microsoft and/or AWS certifications
