Job Description

Seeking a Mid-Level C-17 Support Equipment Design Engineer to join our talented team in San Antonio, TX. This job includes using Computer- Aided (CAD) Unigraphics NX and IPDM to design, develop, solve root cause problems, in sustainment of a combined total of over 1000 equipment designs. In this key role the successful candidate will support SE teammates, some co-located with our customers, to streamline our services and solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

Researches, analyzes, and designs and develops company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize C-17 mission operational readiness and effectiveness over the program lifecycle
Applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design and drawing of C-17 Support Equipment including new product development, as well as sustainment
Derives and designs products per C-17 Change Process including Change Board, Project scheduling, preparation and execution of design reviews, test reports, prototyping and final procedural verification on aircraft
Assists in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product
Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, sales and marketing staff, customers and suppliers to meet group, organization and company objectives
Performs technical planning and control; maintains and improves processes and software tools
Trains and instructs others
Occasional travel requirements throughout the year to support Customer Support Equipment and Fleet Operational Review Team meetings as well as specific Base Back Shop Reviews
Works under general direction


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience managing projects and initiatives through to their completion / implementation hand-off point
Experience working with minimal daily oversight/direction to accomplish business goals and objectives
Experience working with teams across multiple geographic locations
Microsoft and ADOBE (.pdf) software proficiency
Ability to travel for 1 week at intermittent times during the year pending training and fleet requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

4-year Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering degree
C-17 Drawing related database tools (such as Tableau)
Unigraphics NX / IPDM / Team Center Experience a PLUS
ANSI Y14.5 experienced required
Mil-Std Drawing experience a PLUS
Mechanically inclined, comfortable with discussing and developing repair con-ops with engineering support
