Job Description
As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Analysis of engineering hardware and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance Working with test and tactical operating and maintenance procedures to assure the proper administrative controls are in place Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. Provide creative solutions to maximize safety functionality without impeding critical performance. Providing leadership in collaborations with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal We value diverse skills and experience, so don't hold back. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses Placement in challenging or under-performing programs with the expectation of improvement of the safety program Managing multiple-large system safety programs or a safety product line Collaborating with other disciplines during program technical execution, Interfacing with key stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) Mentoring Multiple Jr. Engineers Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval Streamlining processes and reports across a product line for improved efficiency Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design On-Site Means they will be working at a Raytheon Facility.
