DevOps Software Engineer

What You Will Do:

  • The Senior Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems. This role involves close collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable and high-performance software solutions.
  • Design, implement, and test Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
  • Perform system administration
  • Working with DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines
  • Working with Jenkins, Python, Groovy, Gradle
  • Working with previously written code and make modifications as necessary.


Qualifications Needed for the role:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Four (4) years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment and using unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit)
  • Familiarity with Git and Atlassian Tool suite
  • Linux System Administration and Troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of deploying and troubleshooting containerized workload using Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Deploying services using CI/CD pipelines using technologies such as Jenkins, Kubernetes and Ansible
  • Experience with Nexus or similar artifact repository in air gapped environments


Location: This is an onsite position in State College, PA or Dulles, VA.

Clearance: Current TS/SCI

100% On site work
