Equipment Engineer (TPM)
As the Equipment Engineer, you will develop Preventive Maintenance requirements and intervals, working with the manufacturer and our maintenance team to develop work instructions for Preventive Maintenance. You will investigate and develop solutions to equipment problems through identification and repair, including root cause analysis, TPM, and World Class tools. You will be responsible for facilitating team decisions on equipment scope and manage project budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance and modification of computerized process control systems and maintenance management systems.
- Under management’s supervision, review and comment on project work plans prepared by outside consultants for conformance to CoorsTek standards and specifications.
- Prepare a variety of technical facilities reports and analyses for presentation to management team.
- Determine feasibility and/or design of new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities, considering costs, available space, time limits, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Partner with EHS, Maintenance, Operations and Engineering to support multi-disciplinary demands of the Manufacturing processes and operations.
- Work with project management on new capital expenditures by preparing SOW (Statement of Work), contact suppliers for RFQ, evaluate and recommend suppliers.
- Utilize Lean, Six-Sigma, or equivalent problem-solving skills.
- Bring an engineering approach to the existing maintenance team and mentors the maintenance technicians.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred and 10 years of experience or 15 years of equivalent progressive responsibility.
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in specifying, procuring, and commissioning of industrial manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Hands-on approach to solving equipment & systems problems.
- Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications as well as mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Solid understanding of high temperature kiln furnaces including resistance and inductive.
- Advanced equipment maintenance experience in electrical/electronic controls, software, and mechanical areas with a PLC background is preferred.
- Experience with high-powered testing equipment, high temperature processes, vacuum pumps, gas control systems, machining equipment, laser equipment, and HVAC preferred.
- Solid understanding of Capital Expenditure Request processes.
- Structured & formalized commissioning of equipment installations.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Specific Requirements:
- Travel may be required for Supplier Qualifications (approximately 5-10%)
