Data Privacy Technology Lead

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Data Privacy Technology Lead to join our Client's team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Privacy Technology Lead to spearhead our data privacy initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data privacy regulations, a strong technical background in Purview (DLP), and the ability to implement and manage comprehensive data privacy solutions. You will play a pivotal role in implementing and supporting tools that power our organization’s DLP capabilities thereby ensuring our compliance with evolving privacy regulations.
What you’ll do
Purview Expertise:
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Microsoft Purview to establish a robust privacy framework.
- Leverage Purview's capabilities for data loss prevention (DLP), sensitivity labeling, and access controls.
Data Privacy Strategy:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, IT, business units) to define and execute a comprehensive data privacy strategy.
- Stay abreast of evolving privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and ensure organizational compliance.
Tooling and Automation:
- Evaluate and recommend additional data privacy tools and technologies to complement Purview.
- Design and implement automated processes for data discovery, classification, retention, and deletion.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data privacy documentation and reports.
Training and Awareness:
- Educate employees on data privacy best practices and the organization's privacy policies.
- Develop and deliver training programs on Purview and other privacy tools.
What you’ll need
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in data privacy, data governance, or information security.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing Microsoft Purview or similar data protection platforms.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Experience with data loss prevention (DLP) and data classification tools.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications: CIPP/E, CIPM, or other relevant data privacy certifications are a plus.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with other Microsoft security and compliance tools (e.g., Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps).
- Familiarity with data anonymization and pseudonymization techniques.
- Experience with cloud-based data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
