Supports the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies. Participates as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines. Supports the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build. Participates in the implementation of manufacturing plans. Investigates technical problems. Participates in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies. Interfaces with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.
Seeking an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer to become part of the Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR) Spares Engineering Team in Hazelwood, MO.
The TACAIR Spares Engineering Team supports the technical requirements for fabrication and procurement of spares for military aircraft such as F/A-18, F-15, T-45, AV-8B, and MQ-25.
The candidate selected for this role will review and generate technical data packages for spares proposals and fabrication. The team member must be able to work in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, quality, product support, supplier management, and program management.
Position Responsibilities:
Reviewing drawings, models, specifications, and other technical documentation to ensure manufacturability of spare parts.
Building technical data packages for use by suppliers.
Developing and implementing manufacturing plans.
Analyzing design and build concepts to evaluate a producible definition and investigate alternative solutions to meet producibility requirements.
Resolving technical problems that would significantly affect performance, cost or schedule.
Consult and coordinate with other engineering teams across multiple platforms and disciplines.
Drive team performance by working under supervision to support timely delivery of spare parts and proposals.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
1+ years of computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Applications.
1+ years of experience using 3D Design software, such as Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks and/or CATIA.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with sheet metal, machining processes and composites, as well as knowledge of assembly/installation processes.
Previous experience from professional internships.
Formal leadership positions held in work, volunteer or extracurricular organizations (ie. manager, club officer, mentor).
Experiencereading drawings andengineering specifications
